On the 1st October 2015 the National Minimum Wages rates change. Employers need to ensure that they update their pay rates for employees through their payroll in order to avoid grievances or staff going to ACAS with the intention of making an Employment Tribunal claim for unpaid wages or unlawful deduction of wages.
The new rates are as follows:-
|Workers aged 21 and over||£6.70 per hour|
|Workers aged 18 to 20||£5.30 per hour|
|Young workers aged 16 to 17||£3.87|
*Apprentice under 19, or over 19 in the first year of an apprenticeship.
